Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Foundry24, LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the David mobile application and the website at thedavidapp.com (together, the "Service"). If you have questions, email us at hello@foundry24.io.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and an authentication identifier issued by Amazon Cognito. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a private relay email. We do not store your password.
• Preferences. Your chosen life stage, topics of interest, and notification time, so we can personalize devotional content.
• App activity. Devotionals viewed or completed, journal entries, streak data, and subscription status.
• Device and usage data. Basic analytics events (e.g., screens viewed, features used) and crash reports, collected through PostHog. We do not collect precise location, contacts, or the content of other apps.

How we use information

• To deliver personalized daily devotionals and tracts.
• To maintain your account, streaks, and journal entries.
• To process subscriptions through RevenueCat and the App Store.
• To improve the Service and diagnose crashes.
• To communicate important account or service notices.
• To send optional devotional and product email, but only if you ask us to.

Email

We send two kinds of email, and they are not the same thing.

Account and service email — password resets, receipts, notices about your subscription, and changes to this Policy — comes with having an account. We only send it when there is something you need to know.

Everything else is optional and off unless you turn it on. That includes devotional email and occasional notes about new features. You can switch it on or off at any time from Settings in the app, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. Creating an account does not add you to any list, and we do not sell or share your email address with anyone for their own marketing.

Third parties

We share the minimum information necessary with the following service providers:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, authentication (Cognito), and database storage.
• RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation.
• Apple / Google — payments for in-app purchases, as required to process subscriptions.
• PostHog — product analytics and crash reporting.
• Anthropic — we use Claude to generate devotional content ahead of time. Your personal data is not sent to Anthropic.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from Settings, we permanently delete your preferences, streak, journal entries, and tract progress, and we remove your identity from our authentication provider.

Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. You can also email hello@foundry24.io with any privacy request, including objection to processing or a copy of your data. Depending on where you live (for example, California, the EU, or the UK), you may have additional rights under local law, which we will honor.

Children

David is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make material changes to this Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
